Nutrition vs. Exercise

The way I eat allows me to function effectively in the mountains with relative ease. Many believe that our fitness, weight, and health are influenced by diet (60-80%) more than exercise (20-40%).

To truly benefit from exercise, one must engage in intense physical activity for extended periods. Even then, it's crucial to avoid consuming empty calories that lack nutritional value.


The Impact of Chemical Agriculture

Unfortunately, our food systems have been compromised by chemical agricultural practices. These practices have not only damaged our landscapes but have also led to a decline in the nutritional content of our foods. Even if a plant looks appealing and is larger, it may be lacking in essential nutrients.

Our foods are often laden with chemicals that can disrupt our gut flora and accumulate in our bodies. Glyphosate, commonly known as Roundup, is a prime example. This chemical is water-soluble and can easily travel through our bodies and the environment.


A Call for Sustainable Practices

Globally, there are movements advocating for sustainable farming practices that emphasize harmony with nature rather than a war-like approach to agriculture. One sustainable method is permaculture, which focuses on creating self-sustaining ecosystems.
